I am currently employed as a News Media Production Specialist at the Ryerson School of Journalism in Toronto, ON. I have a primary focus on multimedia and online production. I also work as a freelance web designer and social media strategist. My goal is to take my experience as a media educator to teach users of all levels how to develop an online presence which they can manage and grow themselves.
In 2004, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a focus on Radio and Television. I also completed courses in Newspaper reporting, Feature reporting for magazine, Media Law and Ethics, and Public Relations. In my final year of study I was awarded the Don Maclean Award for best Television Documentary.
News Media Production Specialist – Multimedia
I have worked for the School of Journalism since 2004. I provide media education and technical support for the School, with a specialty in multimedia and online production. I am also responsible for the design and administration of the School’s student produced websites.
I work to help small businesses and individual clients build and develop an online presence. I work with clients to design and develop websites which I will eventually teach them how to update and manage themselves. We also develop a social media strategy to help grow their social network and online profile.
